چکیده
As an archipelagic country, Indonesia needs ferry transportation to connect and support the economic activities between areas bounded by sea. The famous crossing route is Merak–Bakauheni one, which connects Java Sumatra corridors. Many ships operate on this route, but limited port facilities significantly affect efficiencies of services provided, hence, they have be moved. Therefore, research analyzed suitability eastern crossing. analysis method used financial aspect (revenue) feasibility, infrastructure, oceanographic conditions. ships’ operating cost determine passage rates based their specifications. It simulated with various load factors identify potential gains or losses. Furthermore, infrastructure under keel clearance comparative methods compare ship dimensions tonnage capacity. Weibull simulate redefinition distribution significant wave heights, was compared ratio slope its heel angle using IMO Weather Criterion (IS Code 2008). results showed that relocation from directly Eastern through existing routes feasible shipping safety, it not financially in terms infrastructure. Benoa–Labuan Bajo a new recommendation, regulatory for operation form tariffs operational costs, permits use subsidized fuel.
